Monday isn't normally the most popular day for a car event but the 5th June 06 was a special evening for
Knockhill Race Track in Scotland.
Ever popular TV program
Top Gear were filming another of their challenges at the track. In this one, the challenge was for Jeremy Clarkson and James May to build a
Caterham and be on track first before Richard Hammond and The Stig could drive one from Surrey to Knockhill. The events will be shown on TV soon and we wont give the game away here!
In addition to the Top Gear team and various BBC and Caterham people, there was also photographers from Scotland's
Fast and Modified magazine as well as from
Fife Police. The Police were there giving demonstrations and passenger drives as part of the other activities taking place at the track - an open pit lane and a shown and shine competition.
We entered our current project car, the Nissan 350z into the show and shine and went up against stiff competition from some of the best modifiers in Central Scotland. We were delighted to be awarded 2nd place in the competition, with an incredible Opel Manta coming in first - a worthy winner!
Our company director Chris gladly received the trophy, presented by James May to the applause of the crowds. A great result for us!
We celebrated our win with a meal with some members of the
Rev Devils car club at a nearby
Frankie and Bennys. A great night!
